Writers Write...

It's Friday night and spring break is here....yippee!!  I wanted to quickly post my writing center signs telling what writers write with examples and a couple other things that I have right next to it.  I forgot to take a picture though, and won't be back there for 9 days....so looks like you will have to use your imagination :)

Here are the other signs, Writing Board ideas

To further support the students' writing, I have various writing forms from this blog printed out for them to use if they please:

Enjoy!

  1. These resources are great, once again!!

Do you teach First Grade right now, or in some sort of Literacy Lab? I thought I saw that written somewhere, but I forgot.

  2. Thanks Kelli! I do teach first grade but literacy is my heart. I used to do a rotational schedule and teach reading to K, 1, and 2 (with two other teachers being writing and math)and keep each class for 3 years. I still can't imagine being out of the classroom at this point. Have you been able to obtain your 3 proofs of residency yet? If not, good luck!

  3. Thanks for the amazing resources. They will really come in handy in my writing classroom. It sounds like you may be a Project CHILD teacher or were one in the past. I teach at a CHILD school and I'm the writing specialist. I love it!
    Thanks again,

  4. I was a CHILD teacher for 4 1/2 years. Last year was my first year in a traditional classroom. I really miss the close collaboration I had with my partners :(

  5. You're right! You do need to work closely with your cluster mates. And keeping the same children for 3 years certainly has its perks.
