The Easy Way to Make Digital Tools Work

Have you noticed that our technological world is finally showing up in standards :)

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.1.6 With guidance and support from adults, use a variety of digital tools to produce and publish writing, including in collaboration with peers.

Of course you can have every student type their story or share it on your document camera....but have you ever thought about letting your students lose with your camera?!

Today my students partnered up and took pictures of each other that were based off a problem a character might face in a story.  Because we are writing stories about characters and not ourselves at this moment, they had to tell their partner what to do and then use the photo of their partner.

I totally let them off on their own and some of them are hilarious.  Here is one:

I printed each photo to be 8.5X11.  The students used the picture as their cover and made their story's problem correspond to the picture.  They were so engaged and it was so simple!
